Everyone should be able to invest

Avanza have the last couple of years moved from targeting only pro users on the investment market and now also turns to users where the knowledge may not be as great and the risk-taking not as high.

As part of Avanza's activation team, my task was to find target groups that had low engagement at Avanza and make that engagement increase.

During a two day design studio, the cross functional team worked together on how to help these users. By conducting user interviews and testing different concepts we found one thing that customers kept coming back to - their lack of time and knowledge.

Being inspired by other learning apps and in some extent gaming apps, we boiled our concepts down to one that we believed in. - The checklist! Through a simple checklist, customers can quickly and educationally increse their knowledge to get confident enough to buy their first fund. We divided the learning into smaller pieces that could be absorbed in an easily digestible way, just enough to get through on a subway ride.

Together with a UX writer and a researcher we quickly prototyped and tested both design and copy in quick iterations that made it possible to deliver something to the customers really fast!

Now it was time to keep track of the interaction and conversion rate. How many users did actually buy a fund after they finished the checklist?
