About the lecture

Motion design is the use of animation and movement in digital interfaces. Things like transitions, micro-interactions, loading states, and hover effects.

Done well, it makes a product feel more polished and alive, but its real value is functional: motion guides attention, communicates cause and effect, and helps users understand what just happened or what to do next.

A button that bounces when clicked, a menu that slides in from the side, or a form field that shakes on error — these aren't just decorative, they reduce cognitive load and make interfaces feel more intuitive. The key is restraint; good motion design is usually the kind users don't consciously notice.

This lecture is primary built for schools teaching UX and design but also great for smaller companys or teams that want to see what prototyping and testing can do for their product and development process.
